Our annual festival is a celebration of the creativity of young Scots. Films are submitted from across the country and are judged by a jury of young people from Into Film’s Youth Advisory Council.
Awards are gven in the categories of Live Action, Animation and Documentary across age ranges 12 and under and 13-19. A Best Film Award is also handed out for each age category.
In the past we have also run film competitions to tie in with wider themes.
In 2018, for the Year of Young People we ran “What Scotland Means to Me” in partnership with the National Library of Scotland’s Moving Image Archive and in 2020 as a reaction to the Covid 19 pandemic we ran a competition based around the theme of ‘Home’ (again in partnership with NLS).
The festival normally centres around a weekend of activity where young people can come along and try their hand at filmmaking, speak to people in the industry, network with their peers and find out how they can take their interests further. (see links page).
